Our focus is Jesus. It’s a relationship, not a list of Do’s & Don’ts.
It’s really easy to get caught up in the noise of mainstream Christianity and miss what Jesus is all about. We’re not concerned with Christian culture so much as we are about Christ. We desire to grow in our love for Him—specifically who He is and what the scriptures say He has done for us (that is, the gospel or “good news”)—because we’re convinced, as Jesus taught, that when we do so, our lives will be transformed from the inside-out (Matthew 23:26).

It is our desire at Current to get out of the way as best we can, and focus on Jesus, the one who laid down his life, that we might have life, and extend life and love to others. We don’t claim to be a perfect church, and that—we believe—is the point. That is why Jesus came.

We live life together. Authentic relationships matter.
Community is at the core of Current SV. We live in such a transient culture, and often the social networks originating here in Silicon Valley lead to empty online engagement that can leave us feeling more lonely.

Current SV seeks to offer real relationships in our gatherings, both formal and informal, throughout the week. We want to be a community that not only asks “how are you doing?” but also “how are you really doing?” Living life together in authentic ways. We are an extended family.

One of the most mind-boggling truths about Jesus (the self-proclaimed ‘Son of God’) is that he came calling us his brothers and sisters (Hebrews 2:11-12). He came not to be served, but to serve (Mark 10:45). And he calls us to do the same for our spiritual family (John 13:34-35)

Church is not just for us. Make a difference.
Who doesn’t want to make a difference? This area is full of global game changers. Well, if there ever lived a person who changed the world, it’s Jesus. And He calls his followers to do the same, investing their efforts not in what rust and moth can destroy, but in relationships that can last forever.

Like Jesus, we want to be invested for the common good of society, while also doing our best to reflect God’s love for the world—primarily seen in the person and work of Jesus. We aim to be the type of church that if we were to suddenly disappear, the people in our lives, the city around us would say, “Man, we’re really going to miss those guys.”

At Current, we want to actively serve our city and the people God puts in our lives, for the sake of moving people toward Jesus.
